Tom was born in Healdsburg, California, on June 25, 1939, and was admitted to the California Bar in 1965. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco in 1961, and his Juris Doctorate from Hastings College of the Law in 1964. He is a member of the Sonoma County Bar Association and the State Bar of California.

Tom’s practice emphasizes the areas of estate, gift, and family and business succession planning, as well as business law, which includes entity formation and operations, mergers and acquisitions, real estate rights and transactions, winery and vineyard law, and probate and trust administration.
